Program will allow SCMA MIT members to take control of their health care
SCMA Members’ Insurance Trust and PAI, a Columbia, SC-based, national third-party administrator (TPA) with expertise in administering employer self-funded group health plans and benefits, have collaborated to offer a comprehensive population health management program to the medical community in South Carolina. Beginning January 1, 2021, SCMA MIT members will have the ability to enroll in groundbreaking programs to take control of their health care.
“SCMA MIT is committed to giving our members the resources they need to lead healthier lifestyles so they can focus on patient care. This physician-led program, working in collaboration with our local resources at the Trust, will allow our participating employers the ability to gain control of their health care spend, stabilize premium costs, and support a healthy and productive workforce,” said Dr. Gary Delaney, SCMA MIT Board Member.
The program, which includes disease management, maternity management, and behavioral health management, was developed following an extensive analysis by PAI of the various cost drivers within SCMA MIT. With direct input from physicians, these offerings will provide SCMA MIT members and participating employers the necessary tools and support to lead healthier lifestyles and stabilize their health care spend.
“PAI is excited to partner with the SCMA Members’ Insurance Trust to support the medical community in South Carolina. Our clinical team looks forward to continued collaboration with SCMA MIT and its physician members to improve the health status of our health care workforce,” said Dr. Shawn Stinson, who oversees health management for PAI.
The population health program is provided at no additional cost to participating SCMA MIT employers and can be utilized by all physicians, employees, spouses and dependents. For more information, please visit www.scmamit.com or e-mail us at MITinfo@scmedical.org.
